Tubman Safety Project

The Pro Bono Safety Project provides high quality pro bono representation to low-income domestic violence victims seeking civil Orders for Protection who have a compelling need for legal assistance. Clients are represented by either Tubman Staff Attorneys or a trained volunteer attorney on our Safety Project team. 

Cases are limited to those venued in Hennepin or Ramsey County. Clients must fall under 250% of the federal poverty guidelines and have a compelling need for representation. This includes a request for family law relief, if the opposing party is represented, if the client speaks English as a second language, or if there are significant mental physical disabilities that would make it difficult for the client to represent themselves.
